Cursillo's purpose is to renew and invigorate the faith of participants, equiping and inspiring them to reform their environments after the Kingdom of God.
Cursillo reveals the love of Christ through a weekend of uplifting spiritual singing, laughing, and learning. Its goal, as stated by Dr. Fred L. Keith, is to help believers "make every relationship, every situation, every experience an occasion for the manifestation of God's Kingdom according to the example of Jesus Christ."
A Presbyterian Cursillo weekend is a lay-led spiritual retreat that includes:
The retreat is a long weekend, usually 5 p.m. Thursday to 5 p.m. Sunday, that lets you experience and celebrate God’s love for you.
The purpose of Presbyterian Cursillo is to help the people who attend our weekend retreats better understand God’s love for them and to begin to understand and appropriate God's will for their lives.

Our experience shows that attendance at a Cursillo weekend makes people more willing to help with the work of the church, especially in the sharing of the Good News of Jesus Christ. After the weekend, the Cursillo experience is nurtured through small groups within the home church and larger gatherings called Ultreyas and the opportunity to return as staff to serve on other weekends.
